Ellijay

Ellijay is the furthest regular stop in our service area, and the work here has its own character. Mountain cabins, rental properties and river lots along the Cartecay and Coosawattee call for landscaping that looks unmanaged even when it is carefully built.

Natural stone does most of the heavy lifting. Fieldstone steps down to a river bank, a flagstone fire pit area cut into a wooded clearing, boulder retention on a slope that drops away behind a cabin — these read as part of the setting rather than an addition to it. Formal geometry and manufactured pavers tend to look imported up here.

Slope and runoff are constant considerations. Mountain rain moves fast and concentrated, so every project needs a plan for where water goes before it decides for itself. We build in drainage stone, swales and appropriate plantings rather than relying on the grade holding as-is.
